Anna Elgie (she/her) is a creative writer, technical writer, and editor living on Treaty 7 land in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
She is the winner of the 2024 Brenda Strathern Writing Prize, was a finalist for the 2020 Literary Taxidermy contest, and has a growing list of publications.
Anna is committed to building literary community, not only through hosting online reading events for writers to showcase their work, but by supporting and encouraging local writers through her advocacy and volunteering. She currently serves on the board of the Writers’ Guild of Alberta, and is a member of the Writers’ Union of Canada.
Anna is represented by Bridgette Kam with Westwood Creative Artists.
She is currently writing two historical novels, and gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Calgary Arts Development.
She offers workshops on the craft of writing through the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society, and provides manuscript consultations.She is also available for writing and editing services.
