*A note on publication credits in case you find a strange name in some of these listings. Once upon a time, I published under the name ‘Anna Shannon.’ I thought this was an ideal name, and I was glad to take it on, in no small part because ‘Shannon’ is an old Irish name meaning ‘storyteller.’
But now, I’ve switched to ‘Anna Elgie,’ which is an ancient Scottish/Norwegian name from my family tree. There are many takes on what the name means, but I prefer ‘servant of the flame.’ I love this name for the passion it provokes in me, but also because it comes from my matrilineal line.
